SoutholdVOICE's first annual "defrost" party, January 19th at the Touch of Venice restaurant in Mattituck, celebrated the end of dredging for this season. 100+ celebrants crowded in to hear SoutholdVOICE president, John Kramer, describe the young group's goals and accomplishments, and hear Southold Trustee, Dave Bergen, explain how Southold managed to get ten town creeks cleared in the short season. SoutholdVOICE Treasurer, Doug Rose, spoke as well, citing the skilled crew who ran the county's only hydraulic dredge for their dedicated effort through tough weather, balky equipment and adverse conditions. It was a fun evening, attendees reported.
